The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), in cooperation with The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), invites you to an online webinar exploring how EERA membership acts as a strategic gateway to collaboration under Horizon Europe.

EERA brings together leading European research organisations active across the full energy value chain and plays an important role in shaping and implementing Europe’s long-term research and innovation agenda in the field of energy. Within the framework of its Joint Programmes, the network enables coordinated research efforts, alignment with EU priorities, and sustained engagement in Horizon Europe partnerships and projects.

Agenda:

• The webinar will open with an Opening Speech by Çağrı Yıldırım, Head of the EU Framework Programmes Department at TÜBİTAK, setting the scene for Türkiye’s engagement with European research and innovation networks.
• This will be followed by the session titled “EERA: Purpose, Structure, and Contribution to Horizon Europe”, delivered by Ivan Matejak, SET Plan and Strategic Programming Director at EERA, who will outline the role of the EERA network within the Horizon Europe framework.
• The programme will then continue with a sequence of experience sharing sessions, beginning with “Experience Sharing – Member of EERA JP Energy tranSition for Sustainable Society (e3s)”, where Pınar Derin Güre from Middle East Technical University (METU) will reflect on engagement in the e3s Joint Programme.
• This will be followed by “Experience Sharing – Member of EERA JP Photovoltaic Solar Energy”, with Selçuk Yerci, Chair of the Board of Directors of METU GÜNAM, sharing insights from the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Joint Programme.
• The experience sharing block will conclude with “Experience Sharing – Member of EERA JP Hydropower & Smart Grids”, presented by Doğan Gezer from TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, with opportunities for questions and discussion throughout the session.
• The webinar will conclude with “Support for the Membership to the Networks: TÜBİTAK”, delivered by Gökçe Emil from TÜBİTAK, highlighting TÜBİTAK’s contribution to the network community and outlining available support schemes for membership in international research networks, including EERA. The session will briefly address how Turkish organisations can apply for such support and frame their objectives and expected engagement with the opportunities offered by the network.

The event is particularly relevant for researchers, research managers, policy professionals and institutional representatives who wish to better understand EERA’s role within the Horizon Europe landscape and explore concrete opportunities for structured European collaboration in energy research.

All sessions will include dedicated time for questions and discussion with participants.
