International energy and climate landscape

EERA has members in 26 EU Member States and 4 Associated Countries. Acknowledging the global nature of the climate challenge, we are committed to international collaboration to foster research, innovation and market adoption of low-carbon technologies globally.

We operate for instance in the frame of:

  • Mission Innovation
Mission Innovation is a global initiative of 23 countries and the European Union with the aim to dramatically accelerate global clean energy innovation. Participating countries have committed to seek to double their governments’ clean energy research and development investments over five years, while encouraging greater levels of private sector investment in transformative clean energy technologies.
  • Paris Agreement
The Paris Agreement’s central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping a global temperature rise this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
  • United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we are facing, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice.
