Session on Challenges and Opportunities of the European Battery Industry

This session on Challenges and opportunities of the European battery industry will take place on 17th April, 14:30-16:00 CEST, during the World Circular Economy Forum WCEF 2024.

Batteries are a key technology to drive the green transition, support sustainable mobility, and contribute to climate neutrality by 2050.

Throughout this session, organised by Batteries Europe and BEPA and counting on the support of the Belgian Presidency of the Council, stakeholders throughout the value chain will give their view and concrete examples on the impact of the new Batteries Regulation. This European regulation will ensure that, in the future, batteries have a low carbon footprint, use minimal harmful substances, need less raw materials from non-EU countries, and are collected, reused and recycled to a high degree in Europe.
