On the occasion of the publication of the latest draft of the 2021-2022 Work Programme of Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy and Mobility” of Horizon Europe, throughout March and April EERA JP Bioenergy has organized six webinars to boost project collaboration between its five sub-programmes. Scientists and researchers have unveiled excellent proposals focused on the following topics: Modelling the role of the circular economy for climate change mitigation, cost-effective micro-CHP and hybrid heating systems, demonstration of large-scale CHP technologies for a shift to the use of biogenic residues and wastes, hybrid catalytic conversion of renewable energy to carbon-neutral fuels, innovative biomethane production as an energy carrier and a fuel, and carbon-negative sustainable biofuel production.
During the months of March and April, EERA Bioenergy JP has brought together all its members in different webinars to promote collaboration between the five subprogrammes and, thereby, take full advantage of the possibilities that offers Horizon Europe, the new research and innovation framework program of the European Union.
With a budget of €95.5 billion, Horizon Europe is based on three fundamental pillars. The first of them, Excellent Science, follows the main lines of the previous Horizon 2020 program. The second pillar is consolidated on an innovative Europe, which presents the European Innovation Council (EIC) as its main novelty. The third and last pillar of Horizon Europe, Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, is in turn composed of several Clusters. In this sense, for EERA Bioenergy JP the cluster which stands out is the number 5, dedicated to climate, energy and mobility issues.
This cluster, which aims to combat climate change by making the energy and transport sectors more respectful, more efficient and competitive, smarter, safer and more resilient, has been the main reason for the internal meetings carried out by EERA Bioenergy.
Scientist and researchers from the organization have met in a total of six webinars, restricted to EERA Bioenergy members, and unveiled excellent proposals for the Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy and Mobility” of Horizon Europe 2021-2022 work program.
All EERA Bioenergy members were invited to join the discussions for the following topics:
These webinars have no other objective but to boost project collaboration among EERA Bioenergy members in order to promote key technologies and solutions that support European climate policies and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
