EERA Day in Italy: R&I collaboration for the Clean Energy Transition, taking place on 23 February in Rome, will provide a key overview of the Italian engagement in catalysing European energy research for a climate-neutral society.
Out of the more than 250 members from 30 countries part of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), 28 are Italian research organisations and universities. All together, they participate in everyone of the 18 EERA Joint Programmes witnessing the contribution to a coordinated effort for the EU SET Plan implementation. The recent revision of the SET Plan will help harmonise its initial strategic goals with the European Green Deal and related industrial plan, particularly the Zero Net Emission Industry legislation, and the REPowerEU plan.
All strategic technologies in the new Italian Energy and Climate Plan - covered by EERA Joint Programmes – meet the calls of COP28 to contribute to the global efforts for “transitioning away from fossil fuels in energy systems in a just, orderly and equitable manner so as to achieve net zero by 2050 in keeping with the science”.
The EERA Day in Italy event will offer a key networking opportunity to Italian energy R&I experts.
