The European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created by the European Commission in the framework of the new Integrated Roadmap Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) by bringing together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector. Its role is to guide Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) to support Europe’s energy transition.

The European Technology Innovation Platform Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) has become a very active and representative actor in the European Energy Research & Innovation (R&I) eco-system. Its main challenge for the coming years is to maintain and possibly increase this level of representativeness, provide the highest-quality guidance on R&I strategic needs, and turn them into key messages that are heard by policy makers and regulators at EU and National levels.

The ETIP SNET activities have been managed through EU project INTENSYS4EU project (Coordination and Support Action started in 2016) and it included also the management of the European Commission Initiative BRIDGE. It united Horizon 2020 Smart Grid and Energy Storage Projects to create a structured view of cross-cutting issues encountered in demonstration projects.

In order to guarantee the quality, continuation and stability of the supporting services provided to ETIP SNET and to BRIDGE, this proposal is presented by a large part of the consortium already managing the INTENSYS4EU project. Some additional partners and identified subcontractors will make the Consortium stronger, more solid and wider from the technical perspective and from the management support point of view. The current expertise brought by the proposed Consortium can be considered as a strong asset thanks to in-depth knowledge of the ETIP SNET and BRIDGE eco-system and processes. The consortium has acquired a significant experience in managing them across the past 4 years.

The Consortium will be supported in its activities by an Experts pool  and two identified subcontractors:

  • B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH
  • Navigant Netherlands B.V.
