Coordinating energy research for a low carbon Europe
Since 1 March 2019, the SUNRISE (“Solar energy for a circular economy”) project is preparing a large-scale research initiative in the field of artificial photosynthesis as a sustainable alternative to the fossil-based, energy-intensive production of fuels and base chemicals. The energy required will be provided by sunlight and the raw materials will be molecules abundantly available in the atmosphere, such as water, carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen.
The project partners cordially invite you to join them for a SUNRISE Stakeholder Workshop on 17 and 18 June 2019 in Brussels. During these two days, they will give you an insight into SUNRISE, present the current state of the work and open manifold opportunities for you to contribute to the definition of the future large-scale initiative. Topics covered will include
The meeting will take place in connection with the European Sustainable Energy Week.
A detailed agenda will follow soon. Participation is free of charge, however registration before 3 June 2019 is mandatory: go to registration form
