Coordinating energy research for a low carbon Europe
EERA JP AMPEA member, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), would like to draw your attention to the Solar Fuel Conference nanoGe – an International Conference on the topic “Light Driven Water Splitting Using Semiconductor Based Devices”.
Venue: Mallorca, Spain
Date:10th to 13th March 2015.
The conference concentrates on research contributions directed to Artificial Photosynthesis based systems using inorganic materials. The production of storable fuels such as hydrogen using solar light would provide a sustainable and secure renewable primary energy carrier. The artificial systems identified so far are limited in their conversion efficiencies and lifetime and are still too expensive for technological applications. This situation demands new approaches that join scientific breakthroughs with advanced engineering strategies. Therefore, systems shall mainly be considered, which possess a potential of energy conversion efficiencies in the range of 10% and above.
