Coordinating energy research for a low carbon Europe
The EERA Chair, Nils Røkke, will be one of the speakers at the UNI-SET closing event ‘Universities in the Energy Transition: Towards a Clean Energy Future’, which will take place in Brussels on 23-24 October.
Nils Røkke will join the roundtable “Will FP9 strengthen the link between research, innovation and education?”, together with Prof. Rolf Tarrach, President of the European University Association, and other speakers.
Organised by UNI-SET and EUA through its European Platform for Universities in Energy Research & Education (EUA-EPUE), the event will be an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SET- Plan and debate how the next EU Framework Programme (FP9) can support bridging research, innovation and education objectives in the field of energy.
The event is also the occasion to present selected highlights of the forthcoming report “New Paradigms in Energy Education and Research: An Action Agenda for Europe’s Universities”, providing recommendations to universities, companies and policy makers for the design of education and research activities in the energy sector, with the aim to overcome the skills gap in the energy transition.
