The European Commission has been funding the set-up of EERA and its Secretariat (EERASE) since 2010. The successor projects of the first funding period – EERASE2 and EERAS3 – provided support to all EERA bodies (i.e. Executive Committee and Joint Programme bodies), liaised with SET-Plan bodies and initiatives, and strengthened further the ties with industry and key external partners. The services to its Joint Programmes, strategic platforms for cooperation and joint programming between major research organisations on common research agendas, are at the core of the EERA Secretariat’s work and the European funding for these activities.
The call for the EERASE3 project was a call to a named beneficiary (EERA).
