Coordinating energy research for a low carbon Europe
Joint Workshop of EERA Joint Programmes FCH and Bioenergy
Bologna, Accademia delle Scienze – ITALY
May 9, 2019
The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) is an association of European public research centres and universities active in low-carbon energy research, representing over 50,000 researchers spread over 30 countries. Joint Programmes are at the core of EERA’s actions: they cover all low-carbon energy technologies and integrate the social and economic aspects of the energy transition.
The Joint Programmes on Fuel Cells and Hydrogen and on Bioenergy have both developed Strategic Research Plans to outline the pathway of development of their respective fields, underpinning the progressive transition to a decarbonized energy system in Europe. These have been created in a joint effort by researchers to support the European Commission in identifying priorities for implementation as well as in the definition of key performance indicators to monitor R&D progress.
In this Workshop, the two Joint Programmes will present their Research Agendas, positioning them in the landscape of strategic roadmapping, large-scale initiatives (FET Flagships, ) and industrial context. The day will revolve around exploring immediately available opportunities for collaboration in upcoming Calls for proposals and conclude with a brokerage event for preparation of initiatives.
