Minerals and Energy - international Expert Debate in Istanbul

EERA, the European Energy Research Alliance, and TUBITAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, have organized this unique opportunity for a direct interchange of views between Turkish energy researchers and members of EERA’s Joint Programme e3s on key questions for the future development of the energy sector.

The event will include

  •  A review of trends in the demand of materials, which are critical for new energy technologies, by ANTONIO VALERO,
and an interpretation of these challenges from the point of view of the Turkish energy industry,  by Dr. ERKAN KALAYCI, Head of Quantitative & Market Analytics at Enerjisa-E.ON Trading.
  • An expert panel  of European researchers will discuss how these developments affect EU research priorities and their implications for all actors involved: industry, consumers and policymakers.
  • Key note speeches will address sensitive issues such as affordable access to energy services, security of supply, policy support to new energy technologies and accounting for the multiple forms of scarcity in energy modelling on national, EU and international scale.

This will be followed by a direct interchange with the audience focussing on the needs and opportunities of collaboration among researchers from Turkey and the European Union, either in the context of Horizon 2020 or on a bilateral basis.
