JP ESI organises Technical Workshop on Energy Systems Integration

16/09/2019

The EERA JP Energy Systems Integration organises a technical workshop which will take place on 16 and 17 September 2019 in Stavanger, Norway.

On Monday 16th afternoon, social science and consumer behaviour in energy systems integration will be tackled:

With a social approach:

  • “User-driven research challenges pursued by LUT’s multi-disciplinary research platform DIGI-USER – Smart Services for Digitalisation”;
  • Energy transitions and the role of consumers
  • Engagement of citizens in the Energy Transition
  • Justice; how does fairness come into the judgement of transitions strategies?

With a technological approach:

  • Calculating the cost of electricity for BEV owners in Turkey: centralized versus distributed approach
  • Optimal integration of vehicle-to-grid technology in self-consumption solutions
  • Classification of appliance working modes and estimation of its power usage from an aggregated power signal

The morning of Tuesday 17th will be in line with the previous day and focus on:

  • The energy systems integration from grid operators’ point of view
  • The potential value of smart charging electric vehicles

Finally, the outcomes of the soon to be completed EU-funded project SmILES (Smart Integration of Energy Storages in Local Multi Energy Systems for maximising the Share of Renewables in Europe’s Energy Mix) will be presented.
