EERA EU Energy Policy Review: Impact on Renewable Energy

Starting in 2021, the Wind Joint Programme and the EERA Secretariat jointly launched a series of webinars to update EERA’s research community about selected EU policy dossiers and their impact on renewable energies.

The first two webinars have been very successful, and a third session will be organized on 17 June 2022.

The recently-published REPowerEU Plan of the European Commission builds on the premises of its first Communication, and sets in stone the process that will make the EU independent from Russian fossil fuels. The Plan discusses at length the role that renewable energy, ranging from wind, to solar, and hydrogen, will play in shifting away from fossil fuel dependency coming from Russia, and ultimately lead the EU to climate neutrality by 2050.

This workshop is organised as a cross-cutting workshop and aims to focus on the impact of policy on renewable energy developments in the broad context, which means including the energy system aspects, society and ecology.

We warmly invite interested experts from the various EERA Joint Programmes to jointly discuss the policy developments and implications for our research agenda’s.
