Funding period: 01/2020-12/2022

The SUPEERA project supports the implementation of the SET-Plan. The proposal was developed in consultation with the European Commission, various SET-Plan Implementation Working Groups and the EERA Joint Programmes.

SUPEERA will support the energy research organisations involved in the SET-Plan by monitoring and optimising the actions of the Implementation Plans, and by encouraging a stronger engagement of the EU-13 countries. Since the SET-Plan does not yet provide an official mechanism for using cross-cutting research capacities or pooling interdisciplinary activities, SUPEERA will improve the exchange of information between the Implementation Working Groups and make recommendations for joint actions. SUPEERA will also help accelerate the uptake of new technologies by industry and examine the impact of EU policies in the view of bringing the SET-Plan forward in the broader context of the Clean Energy Transition.

Typical tasks of SUPEERA will include overviewing the joint programmes to leverage the efficiencies of collective action; engaging with industry to facilitate and accelerate the uptake of SET-Plan technologies in SET-Plan countries in the context of the NECPs, and the support of experts for the definition of aggregated indicators of SET-Plan impacts. Activities will maintain EERA as an open alliance, best representative of SET-Plan countries and enhance it by inviting new members, in particular from EU-13 countries which are generally under-represented.

Besides EERA aisbl as a sole beneficiary, the project is supported by its Linked Third Parties:

SINTEF Stiftelsen for industriell og teknisk forskning
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland
DTU Technical University of Denmark
CEA Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission
KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
