Coordinating energy research for a low carbon Europe
PRE-LEAP-RE (“PREparing for a Long-Term EU-AU Research and Innovation Partnership on Renewable Energy”) is a project funded by the European Union and will prepare, with African and European partners, a joint programme for research and innovation in the area of renewable energy (LEAP-RE). It will set the foundation for future collaborative AU-EU activities in the field of renewable energy (RE).
On 6 and 7 December 2018, PRE-LEAP-RE will organise a strategic workshop in Brussels. This workshop will contribute to the conceptualisation and planning of the envisaged European Joint Programme (EJP) LEAP‐RE and validate agendas on “research and innovation” and “human and institutional capacity building” as well as organisational and funding principles. This new partnership will be assisted by valuable lessons learned from existing projects.
The first day (6 December) will be dedicated to the two agendas and focus on researchers, innovators, citizens and further key stakeholders.
The second day (7 December) will be dedicated to the organisational and funding principles and will thus be mainly directed towards funding organisations.
